We are immensely proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our President, Dr. Mrinmoy Pramanick, and Prof. Sipra Mukherjee on receiving the prestigious A.K. Ramanujan Book Prize for Translation, awarded by the Association for Asian Studies.
This distinguished honor recognizes their remarkable translation of I Belong to Nowhere by Kalyani Thakur Charal (Tilted Axis Press). Their work exemplifies scholarly excellence, literary sensitivity, and a deep commitment to bringing powerful voices into wider global conversations.
The A.K. Ramanujan Prize is an international recognition of exceptional translation, and this achievement stands as a testament to their rigor, dedication and contribution to literary and cultural studies.

Award Recognition
Calcutta Comparatists 1919 received the P. V. Narasimha Rao Multilingualism Recognition at SamRiddhi 2025 on 28th January 2026, at the India International Centre, New Delhi. The event was hosted by ReTHINK INDIA, an action-cum-advocacy platform promoted by a group of AIIMS and IIT alumni.
The recognition felicitates the trust for advancing the Indian approach to Comparative Literature; fostering intellectual exchange, engaging diverse literary traditions, and strengthening cross-cultural understanding in the true spirit of #EkBharatShreshthaBharat, particularly in the emerging era of AI-driven, LLM-powered machine translation.
